Bears, Bulldogs Post Nonleague Wins

The Burroughs High School varsity softball team blanked visiting San Marino, 11-0, in a nonleague game last Friday.
Sophomore Chloe Centeno fell a single shy of the cycle after finishing 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, a double and four RBIs while junior Emerson Coblentz pitched a complete-game one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks.
Junior Gizelle Rangsiyawong went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI, senior Laurel Piper went 2-for-2 with a double and a run, and freshman Karlee Earl went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Juniors Eliza Torres and JJ Barrios each recorded a hit, an RBI and a run while junior Alyssa Rosales tallied a hit, a run and a walk. Sophomore Alyssa Morales walked and scored once while seniors Rachel Little and Lilly Lewis each scored once.
The Bears (13-2 overall, 4-0 in league) will visit Dos Pueblos High in Goleta for a nonleague doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. before hosting Arcadia for a league game on April 11.

Burbank High School Samantha Buckley went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a solo home, a double and five RBIs to help the Bulldogs beat Notre Dame High in a nonleague game on Monday.

The Bulldogs beat host Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, 8-2, in a nonleague game on Monday as Samantha Buckley went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a solo homer and a double to finish the afternoon with a game-high five RBIs.
Maddison Kellogg allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts over 5.1 innings to earn the win while sophomore Olivia Orozco pitched 1.2 scoreless innings of relief with one hit and no walks.
Captain Tatiana Pisa went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run while Belinda Lujano went 2-for-4 with a run. Captain Eliza Bowren recorded a hit, two RBIs, a run and a pair of walks while Delilah Alvarado and Shelby Cribbs each finished with a hit, a run and a walk. Emma Mendoza walked and scored once while Sasha Quintanar walked once.
Burbank narrowly lost at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta, 1-0, in a 13-inning Pacific League game last Saturday. The Bulldogs previously edged visiting Quartz Hill in a nonleague game, 3-2. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
Burbank (11-5 overall, 3-2 in league) will visit Hoover High in Glendale for a league game on Tuesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Camarillo on April 12.
