Local Squads Suffer League Losses

The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ soccer team was shut out for just the second time this season after losing at Arcadia, 2-0, in a Pacific League matchup on Tuesday.
The Bears previously blanked visiting Glendale in a league matchup, 2-0. Senior captain Julia Narmore and sophomore Quiana Laughlin each scored one goal while senior captain Nicole Jimenez was credited with an assist.
JBHS hosted Burbank in an intracity rivalry league matchup Friday; the game ended after the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The Bears (7-4 overall, 5-2 in league) will host Hoover High of Glendale in a league contest on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m.

Burbank High School freshman Emily Taghon and the Bulldogs will host Muir High of Pasadena in a Pacific League matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs suffered a pair of Pacific League shutouts on the road after falling at Glendale, 2-0, and Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta, 4-0.
