Bears, Bulldogs Fall in League Games

The Burroughs High School varsity boys’ basketball team narrowly lost at Muir High in Pasadena, 49-47, in a Pacific League game last Friday, as Sam Horning racked up 22 points, including six 3-pointers, with six rebounds, one steal and one assist.
Chase Kardosh poured in nine points, four rebounds, one steal and one assist, Jacob Samontina registered six points and one rebound, and Jagger Topp finished with five points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Elden Jackson tallied three points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists while Landon Everheart scored two points with six rebounds. Arthur Gabrielyan collected four rebounds while Tyrell Burrell had one rebound and one assist.
The Bears (7-4 overall, 2-1 in league) will continue league action in the new year by hosting Crescenta Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

BURBANK

Burbank High School senior Liam Baker scored a point during a league game at Arcadia last week.

The Bulldogs lost at Arcadia, 73-58, in a Pacific League game last Friday, as senior Sattwik Banerjee amassed a game-high 29 points. Senior Ashot Daniellian poured in 11 points while senior Nathan Figueroa registered eight points. Senior Steven Harutyunian scored four points, junior Mike Gutierrez finished with three points, sophomore Kevin Debashian tallied two points, and senior Liam Baker had one point.
Burbank (2-8 overall, 0-3 in league) will compete in the San Gabriel Tournament beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 27. The Bulldogs will resume league play in the new year by hosting Pasadena on Jan. 3.
