The Pacific League recently released its all-league honors for football, girls’ volleyball, boys’ water polo, girls’ tennis and cross-country following the completion of the CIF fall sports season.
Burroughs and Burbank high school athletes were recognized for their season-long accomplishments, hard work and outstanding contributions to their teams.
FOOTBALL
Seven Burbank and 12 Burroughs standout football players received all-league recognition this season.
Burroughs’ Chris Kulikov, Dilan Webster and Marcus Manahan were selected first-team offense, while teammates Ryan Hernandez, Noah Creus and Ricky Garcia each earned first-team defense. Robert Huynh and Jake Scozzola were second-team offense, Collis Lurie and Reznor Reeves were named second team defense, and Brody Beebe and Ethan Hubbell each earned an honorable mention for offense and defense, respectively.
Burbank’s Zakk Estrada and Dylan Robinson were selected first-team offense, while teammates Evan Miller and Rene Harris were named first-team defense. Elijah Becker and Jacob Mendieta earned second-team offense honors, Daniel Luga was second-team defense, and Sebastian Mirzakanian and Mher Sahakyan each earned an honorable mention for offense and defense, respectively.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Burbank’s David Arakelyan was named the boys’ water polo co-coach of the year and standout Zack Gezalyan was selected the player of the year. Danny Agazaryan earned a second team selection while Hayk Atanasyan was an honorable mention.
Burroughs’s Harrison Zekowski earned a first-team selection, while Ian Duffield was an honorable mention
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Five local girls’ volleyball players earned league awards this season.
Burroughs’ Janessa Wareebor was a first-team selection, while Sadie Lomet and Caitlyn Lugo were named second team. Burroughs’ Jessica Real and Burbank’s Jazmine Cobb each earned an honorable mention.
CROSS-COUNTRY
Three Burroughs and two Burbank cross-country athletes earned league honors this season.
Isabella Galustians and Vivienne Cannon were first-team selections while Mackenzie Monahan was named second team for the girls’ squad. Meanwhile for Burbank, Amelie Guyot earned first-team honors and Ricardo Mujica was second team for the girls’ and boys’ squad, respectively.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Burbank’s Brianna Khobramasihi and Nairi Zeytounzian were selected honorable mention in doubles, while Arcadia claimed all other league awards.
