Bulldogs, Bears Finish Claremont Tournament Play Today

The Burbank High School varsity girls’ water polo team collected its first win of the season and snapped a two-game losing streak after defeating host San Marino, 9-5, in a nonleague game on Tuesday.
Senior Makala Kelley led with a game-high three goals. Seniors Valentina Angel and Karina Ghukasyan each scored two goals, while senior Rebecca Zakarian and sophomore Lizzie Bislamyan each added one goal.
The Bulldogs previously lost a nonleague game at Louisville High in Woodland Hills, 10-7. Angel scored a game-high four goals, Bislamyan registered a pair of goals and Zakarian finished with one goal.
The Bulldogs (1-2 overall) will finish competing in the Claremont tournament on Saturday, Dec. 3, before visiting South Pasadena for a nonleague game on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m.

BURROUGHS
The Bears opened the regular season by competing in the Claremont tournament on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3. The results will be included in next week’s edition of the Burbank Leader.
