Burbank, Burroughs Lose Season Openers

The Burbank High School varsity boys’ basketball team lost its season-opener at Kennedy High in Granada Hills, 50-44, on Wednesday. Junior Omar Payind led the Bulldogs with 15 points while sophomore Kevin Debashian scored 11 points.
Burbank will compete in the San Gabriel Tournament, which starts on Monday, Nov. 21.

BURROUGHS
The Bears lost their season-opener against Los Osos High of Rancho Cucamonga, 63-47, in the Cardinal Tip-Off Classic at Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary in Montebello on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader.
The Bears will battle Marshall High of Los Angeles in a nonleague game on Monday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m.
