Burroughs, Burbank Represented at CIF Prelims

The Burroughs High School varsity cross-country teams competed in the CIF Southern Section Division II prelims at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut last Saturday, Nov. 12. The Bears girls’ team finished seventh overall with 180 points while the boys’ team claimed 11th overall with 295 points; however, neither team qualified for the CIF finals this weekend.
The girls’ team was led in the 3-mile race by sophomore Isabella Galustians in seventh place with a 19:05.6 time. Junior Mackenzie Monahan (19:25.1) claimed 14th, while senior Vivienne Cannon (20:06.8) was 30th. Freshman Amy Harkins (23:46.3) and sophomore Anya Kallianpur (24:32.4) placed 69th and 73rd, respectively, while sophomores Makayla Victoria (26:30.8) and Kayla Cabral (28:35.2) took 86th and 94th, respectively.
Meanwhile for the boys’ team, the Bears were led by sophomores Danny Camacho (17:44.5) and Christopher Miguel (17:48.5) in 59th and 61st, respectively. Freshman Nathan Marca (18:03.5) took 65th while sophomore Alex Acevedo (18:09.4) and freshman Liam Ellingsworth (18:09.9) finished 68th and 69th, respectively. Sophomore Justin Cano (18:11.1) was 71st while freshman Soren Khitikian (19:58.9) placed 89th.

BURBANK
Burbank High School junior Ricardo Mujica represented the Bulldogs at the CIF Southern Section Division II prelims at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut last Saturday. He finished the 3-mile race 26th overall with a 16:26.1 time.
