The Burbank High School varsity girls’ tennis team saw its fine season end after losing their CIF-SS Division I first-round playoff match at Camarillo, 14-4, on Wednesday.
No. 1 singles player Sena Hammel (6-1, 6-3) and No. 2 Bernadette Hovhanasyan (6-2, 6-1) each won a pair of sets for the Bulldogs.
Burbank concluded the season third in the Pacific League standings with an 8-4 record (10-5 overall) and will look to return to the postseason next year.
The Bears concluded the season and missed the team CIF-SS playoffs following the conclusion of the Pacific League individual tournament last week. JBHS finished sixth in the league standings with a 3-7-2 league and overall record.
