Bulldogs Move to 1-3 in League

The Burbank High School varsity football team lost a Pacific-Upper League game against Muir High in Pasadena, 21-7, last Thursday.
Senior Dylan Robinson completed seven passes for 94 yards and rushed for 66 yards on 13 carries. He also made five tackles on defense. Senior Zakk Estrada rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries while adding one catch for 26 yards. He also had an interception on defense. Junior Jacob Mendieta rushed for 66 yards on 19 carries and added a 7-yard catch. Senior Evan Miller had a pair of receptions for 14 yards and made a team-high 10 tackles on defense. Senior Ben Forster made a 30-yard catch, while junior Jake Reyes had a pair of receptions for 17 yards.
Juniors Levon Bakmazian and Marcus Ojeil each registered five tackles. Junior Daniel Luga and senior Rene Harris made three and two tackles, respectively, while each combined on a sack for a loss of 5 yards. Senior Mher Sahakyan and junior Sean-Carter Garrett each had two tackles, while senior Francois Taillefer, junior Brennan Miller, junior Diego Ruacho and junior Brandon Elizalde each made one tackle.
The fifth-place Bulldogs (3-6 overall, 1-3 in league) concluded the regular season with a intracity rivalry matchup at Burroughs High on Friday; the game ended after the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
