The Burbank High School varsity girls’ tennis team lost a Pacific League match at Arcadia, 15-3, on Tuesday. No. 1 singles Sena Hammel tallied 6-1, 6-0 wins, while No. 2 Bernadette Hovhanasyan added a 6-1 victory.
The Bulldogs previously lost a league matchup at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta, 13-5. No. 1 singles player Hammel (6-4, 6-1), and the No. 1 doubles team of Nairi Zeytounzian and Brianna Khobramasihi (6-1, 6-3) each won a pair of sets, while No. 2 singles Hovhanasyan won 6-0.
Burbank will compete in the league prelims on Monday, Oct. 24, and finals on Wednesday, Oct. 26, before the CIF-SS brackets are released on Monday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m.
BURROUGHS

The Bears won a Pacific League match at Pasadena, 16-2, on Tuesday. No. 3 singles player Aly Stoliker (6-2, 6-1, 6-2), No. 2 Hannah Lewis (6-0, 6-1, 6-1), and the No. 1 doubles team of Lindsey Mazarei and Abigail Stell (6-2, 7-5, 6-0) each swept. No. 1 singles Elane Shane won two sets, 6-2, 6-0, before rotating with Ashley Sinovai, who won her lone set 6-1. The No. 2 tandem of Kaitlyn Glaim and Ava Marye won a pair of sets, 6-4, 6-1, while the No. 3 duo of Sophia Luna Garcia and Claudia Ng won a set, 6-1.
JBHS will compete in the league prelims on Monday, Oct. 24, and finals on Wednesday, Oct. 26, before the CIF-SS brackets are released on Monday, Oct. 31.
