The Burbank High School varsity girls’ tennis team defeated its intracity rival Burroughs High, 15-3, on Tuesday in a Pacific League match.
Burbank’s No. 1 singles player Sena Hammel (6-2, 6-1, 6-4) and No. 2 Bernadette Hovhanasyan (6-3, 6-4, 6-2) each swept their sets. No. 3 Ariana Khougaeva, who subbed in for Chase Harris in the final set, tallied one victory, 6-2.

Burbank’s No. 1 doubles team of Nairi Zeytounzian and Brianna Khobramasihi (6-3, 6-4, 6-0), and the No. 2 tandem of Molly Foenander and Ellen Petrosyan (6-4, 6-3, 6-0) each swept their sets. The No. 3 duo of Chihiro Kato and Jessica Han collected a pair of victories, 6-0, 6-4.
Burroughs’ No. 2 singles Hannah Lewis (6-1), No. 3 singles Alexandra Stoliker (6-0), and the No. 1 doubles team of Lindsey Mazarei and Abigail Stell (6-4) picked up the lone victories.
Burbank will host Pasadena in a league matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 3:30 p.m. Meanwhile, JBHS will host Hoover in a league contest on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 3:30 p.m.
