Burbank, Burroughs Suffer League Setbacks

The Burroughs High School varsity softball team returned to action after an 11-day hiatus and lost a nonleague game to visiting Granada Hills Charter of Granada Hills, 7-1, on Wednesday, March 30.

Senior Kelsey Acosta collected a double and a run scored, while junior Rachel Little tallied a base hit, a stolen base and an RBI. Senior Gigi Garcia and sophomore Mia Ramirez each registered a base hit, while senior Isabella Scozzola recorded a pair of stolen bases.

The Bears (14-5 overall record, 3-1 in league), ranked No. 3 in the March 28 CIF-SS Division 4 poll, are scheduled to host Burbank in an intracity rivalry league game on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m.

BURBANK

The visiting Bulldogs lost a Pacific League game at Arcadia, 6-2, on Wednesday, March 30. No individual statistics were reported to the Burbank Leader.

Burbank (10-10 overall, 3-2 in league) will have an opportunity to gain ground in the league standings when it visits JBHS on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs are a half-game behind the Bears for fourth in the league standings.
