NCL Glendale Chapter Holds Sellebration Sept. 24, 25

First published in the Sept. 17 print issue of the Glendale News-Press.

The Glendale Chapter of National Charity League Inc. will hold its annual community rummage sale, Sellebration, at the Pacific Community Center in Glendale on Sept. 24 and 25.
A long-standing event for the NCL Glendale Chapter, Sellebration serves the community with well-priced offerings of apparel, toys and home goods. This year, the event was chaired by local residents Joy Asbury and Monica Rubalcava.
More than 200 mothers and daughters will spend 1,445 hours planning, preparing, setting up and working at Sellebration.
“Sellebration is one of our biggest events that I look forward to because mothers and daughters are able to work side by side to support the local communities and our philanthropic partners who are Union Station, Ascencia, YWCA Glendale, Door of Hope and many more,” said President Mia Husfeld. “Our hope is that the community comes out and does a little shopping at our huge rummage sale and all the proceeds will benefit numerous people in need.”
In response to community feedback, the nonprofit will extend the sale by two hours on Saturday, Sept. 24.
The group also recently announced that it will open its membership drive on Oct. 1 and is accepting applications for the Classes of 2029, 2028 and 2027 from the surrounding La Cañada, La Crescenta and Glendale communities. Those interested should visit the chapter’s website at nationalcharityleague.org/chapter/glendale/ and complete the online interest form on the Get Involved page by Oct. 31.
The NCL Inc. Glendale Chapter’s mission is to foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences. The Glendale Chapter works with more than 20 local philanthropies.
