Joyce Lyle Haskitt passed away on November 29, 2023 in Bellevue, WA at the age of 86 due to complications of dementia. Joyce was a 1955 graduate of John Burroughs High School and attended Glendale Community College. She had married Richard Haskitt (JBHS ’53) in Burbank in 1958. They had two sons. Richard Bruce, born in 1961, and his wife Cindy Schaefer were killed when their commercial floatplane crashed exactly 14 years before Joyce’s passing. Robert Brent, born in 1963, lives in Washington with his wife Kimberley. They have three grown children: Hayley; Griffin; and Gemma.
During their 65 years of marriage, Joyce and Richard have lived in Burbank, Northridge, Saratoga in the Bay Area, Tucson, AZ, and Redmond, WA.
Joyce devoted most of her life to being a dedicated wife, nurturing mother, and household manager. She enjoyed entertaining, music, traveling, and exploring wines. Her most enjoyable and rewarding moments were those spent with her husband, their two sons, and great friends.
