It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doyle L. Hobson, who went to be with our Lord Jesus in the early hours of April 20, 2024, at the age of 82. He was being treated at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center for a heart attack he sustained on April 15, 2024.
Born on May 5, 1941 to Marion Phillip Hobson and Velma Phelps Hobson, Doyle was called “Butch” with his family and later “Hobby” with friends and co-workers. He was a beloved husband, cherished father and respected friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Hobby was known for his keen interest in cars and electronics, as an award-winning computer engineer with IBM, and his love for skiing in Mammoth, CA. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Noel Hobson, his daughters, Katherine Kelly Hobson (John Drake) and Sharon Hobson Barcarse (Alfred Barcarse), his son, Kevin Hobson (Michelle Hobson), and his granddaughter Jane Hobson. They will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
A private funeral was held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, CA. A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Doyle “Hobby” Hobson will be held on May 25, 2024 at Calvary Bible Church in Burbank, CA. All friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects.
