Fouad then enrolled in Case Western Reserve in Cleveland.Forgoing his studies in the US, Fouad returned to England to marry Rosmarie. Here he began his career in business, managing a ‘Burger Land ‘ restaurant. His sons were born during this time.Fouad moved his young family to Burbank, where he purchased a gas station in West Covina with brother Nadim. The immigration paperwork changed the family name from Sallman to Salman .The Sallman family gathered often in California. Brother Jamal flew in from Lebanon, Ramsey from Florida, and Mouneer from Montreal. After winding down the business, Fouad began his final career in sales. He started at Toyota of North Hollywood and ended at Toyota of Pasadena. A diligent salesman, he could be found at the dealership six days a week, where he was very well-liked.Despite his demanding work schedule, he still made time for his family. Fouad took Ian to many concerts, until he was old enough to start playing gigs of his own. He attended many of Andrew ‘s marching band competitions and halftime shows at JBHS.An inveterate jokester, Fouad ‘s happy-go-lucky ways often landed him in hot water. But he could always diffuse the tension. He loved children, relating to their mirthful, carefree attitude.Though born into the Druze faith, he was not religious. Likely because of how sectarian violence in Lebanon tore the country apart. But, he was a generous man with a strong sense of justice.Fouad ‘s only grandson James was his favorite person in the world. He looked forward to his trips to San Diego to attend James ‘s birthday parties.Fouad will be greatly missed.
