Storytelling Fundraising Event Set for Feb. 16
StorySchool Live, a “Moth”-style storytelling event, will be held on Thursday evening, Feb. 16, at Whimsy (40 Mills Place, in Old Pasadena).
The event, which is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature people telling true stories on stage, each for five minutes. Every storyteller will share a story around the theme of “belonging.”
This evening is being hosted by Katie Quesada, a renowned storytelling expert and coach.
“Our storytellers will be professional speakers and artists, as well as everyday people who have experienced amazing stories — just like you,” said event committee member Josh Avis, who is co-founded of the Lucky Few Foundation. “You will be entertained, learn how to tell better stories and support a good cause! All in one night.”
All proceeds from StorySchool Live will benefit the Lucky Few Foundation, which is a global storytelling movement shifting narratives about Down Syndrome to create a more inclusive world where everyone belongs. The Lucky Few Foundation was co-founded by New York Times best-selling author Heather Avis.
The evening’s lineup of speakers includes Caitlin Crosby, Arielle Estoria, Brandon Farbstein, Johnny Giovati, Arshiya Kherani, Michael Nelder, Mandy Salas and Jasmin Shupper.
Tickets are $35 and will be available at the door. For presale tickets, visit katiequesada.com, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
