Edmund "Ed" Wardle III
Date of Death

Edmund Wardle passed away on June 18, 2022, at 90, surrounded by his loving family, following a five-year battle with cancer.

Born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, he grew up in Alhambra, the son of Ed and Virginia Wardle. He graduated from Alhambra High School in 1949 and earned a B.S. at UCLA, where he was a Delta Tau Delta fraternity member.

He served during the Korean War as a member of the 5th Army Intelligence Corps, based in Chicago, where he met the love of his life, Beverly, his wife of 66 years.

Both Ed and Beverly were native Californians and couldn’t wait to return home again. They were married in Pasadena on September 7, 1955, and bought a home in the Rancho area of Burbank.

Ed was Executive VP of Hydro-Test for 29 years before joining American Integrated Services, where he worked for more than 20 years.

Ed was deeply involved in scouting as his boys grew, first with Cub Scout Troop 252 and then as Scout Master for Troop 212. He earned an Honorary Service Award for his work with the Boy Scouts.

As a Los Angeles native, Ed had a love of classic cars. In 1976 he purchased a 1931, four-door, slant windshield Model A Ford. He was a Jewel City Model A Club member for more than 50 years, participating in many trips and outings with the car club. Ed also had a great love for his 1956 Jaguar XK140 Coupe, purchased new by his father in Pasadena.

Ed is survived by his wife, Beverly, sons Jim and Gary, their wives Cindy and Mary, and was so proud of his four grandsons: Stephen, Ian, Ryan and Graham.
