Dave Clayton passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2023, at his home in Loon Lake, Washington. He was 68 years old.
Dave was born and raised in Burbank, California, and graduated from Burbank High School in 1973, where he was awarded All-Foothill League and All-San Fernando Valley on the ’72 BHS Foothill Champs team. After high school, Dave played football for Glendale College.
Dave married Wendy Lou Jenkins, BHS Class of ’76, on April 7, 1979, and they just celebrated their 44th anniversary. God blessed them with three wonderful children, David, Matthew and Rachel. Rachel went home to be with the Lord in 2005 after a long battle with leukemia.
Dave played softball for many years as a catcher, playing on several teams, one team being Calvary Bible. Through the years, Dave also loved coaching his kids in several different sports. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing in the eastern Sierras with his family.
When his father retired in 1991, Dave took over and successfully ran Cal State Plumbing for 28 years. He retired in 2019, and he and Wendy moved to 45 beautiful acres in Loon Lake.
While we will miss him greatly, we know he is with the Lord and we will see him again one day soon.
Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel, and his father Dave. He is survived by his wife, Wendy; his sons David (Rayna) and Matthew (Alexis); his mother Marilyn; and his brothers Steve (Diane), John (Christi), Phill (Barb) and Paul; and many adoring nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to attend Dave’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 1101 S. Main St., Burbank 91506. A lunch reception will follow.
