Arts Festival Runs Through June 9

The Downtown Burbank Arts Festival returns Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

This free event in the heart of Downtown Burbank will feature more than 180 handmade artisan booths on San Fernando Boulevard. Shoppers can expect to find trendsetting indie goods including original fashion and jewelry design, paper goods, innovative home décor and housewares, art, photography, food and more.

The festival will host a number of activities, which includes the Chalk Block, where chalk artists will be creating scenes based on their favorite film or character from a movie. Guests can vote for the “Crowd Favorite,” with the winner  announced 5 p.m. Sunday. Musical performances will be showcased all throughout the event, and the Media City Church will also present a bubble experience that is fun for the whole family.

This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy festive activities while also experiencing the area’s more than 600 shops and eateries and exploring the ever-growing collection of outdoor murals.

The event is family- and dog-friendly and free to the public.

Expect street closures around the area. San Fernando Boulevard will be closed between Angeleno Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard from 6 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday and the streets in the area of Downtown Burbank bounded by Magnolia Boulevard, First Street, Third Street, Olive Avenue and Angeleno Avenue will have limited access.

Motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in the area and expect delays. Bus schedules and routes will also be affected.
