Starlight Bowl Kicks Off Summer Concert Series

The Starlight Bowl recently welcomed guests to its Summer Concert Series on July 4, the first in a slate of musical events planned through September.

Fireworks scattered across the sky in celebration of the Fourth of July as concertgoers filled seats at Burbank’s premiere outdoor amphitheater.

Known for hosting the biggest local cover bands, the premier of this year’s Starlight Bowl concert series was no different, with headliners Hollywood U2 and The Rising taking the stage, paying homage to the band U2 and musician Bruce Springsteen.

No Fourth of July in Burbank would be complete without a flyover by the Condor Squadron, which promotes aviation history and preserve planes that helped secure America’s freedom during World War II.

“The Star-Spangled Banner” kicked off the night, performed by Chloe Barthelemy. Each person who attended the festivities were handed a small American flag upon entrance.

There are nine more concerts planned throughout the season, with performances by Queen Nation, Euro Nights USA, The Long Run, The Fab Four and Yächtley Crëw.

First published in the July 8 print issue of the Burbank Leader.
