The Burbank High School varsity baseball team was edged at Crean Lutheran High in Irvine, 2-1, in a CIF-Southern Section Division IV quarterfinal game last Friday.
Bulldogs pitcher Jiffy Cafferty racked up eight strikeouts over six innings with three hits, two earned runs and one walk.
Danny Betancourt went 2-for-3 for Burbank, teammate Julian Gonzalez recorded a hit, two steals and an RBI, Miklo Reynoso finished with a double and a walk, and Joe Maslyk tallied a hit and a run.
Adan De Paz and Ryan Sebastion each had a base hit while Ben Castillo walked once.
The Bulldogs concluded the season with a 14-10 overall record.
