Bulldogs Tie Glendale; Bears Edged by Arcadia

The Burbank High School varsity boys’ soccer team narrowly tied visiting Glendale High, 2-2, in a Pacific League matchup on Tuesday.
Senior Gabriel Mier’s second goal of the game, a free kick in extra time, sealed the draw and prevented back-to-back losses for the Bulldogs.
Burbank was previously shut out by visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta in a league game, 3-0.
The Bulldogs hosted Burroughs High in an intracity rivalry league contest Friday; the game ended after the Burbank Leader’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. Burbank (7-4-2 overall, 3-2-2 in league) will visit Muir High in Pasadena for a league game on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m.

BURROUGHS

Burroughs High School senior captain Daniel Proano and the Bears will visit Hoover High in Glendale for a league game on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m.

The Bears narrowly lost to visiting Arcadia, 3-2, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Burbank Leader. JBHS previously lost a league game at Glendale, 1-0.
