Bears Beat Pasadena; Bulldogs Edged by Hoover

The Burroughs High School varsity girls’ soccer team defeated visiting Pasadena, 5-2, in a Pacific League game last Thursday, as sophomore Quiana Laughlin posted a hat trick with an assist.
Junior Nadia Aguilar recorded one goal and an assist, senior captain Julia Narmore tallied a pair of two assists and junior Graciela Gomez scored once.
The Bears (8-3 overall, 4-0 in league) will resume league action at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 3:15 p.m.

BURBANK

Burroughs High School junior Nadia Aguilar recorded one goal and an assist to help the Bears win a Pacific League game against Pasadena last week.

The Bulldogs lost a Pacific League game against visiting Hoover High of Glendale, 2-1, last Thursday.
Burbank was down a pair of goals in the second half until sophomore Maneh Nersesyan scored from the 35-yard mark in the 66th minute to cut the deficit in half, 2-1. The Bulldogs also received contributions from freshman goalie Sidney Evans-Armendariz.
“Our goalkeeper had a terrific match and I’m sure it was fun for the neutral spectator to watch,” Burbank head coach Alan Simon said. “Savannah [Brown] and Natalie [Gonzalez] did well and I can see improvement on the pitch.”
The Bulldogs (2-5 overall, 1-3 in league) will resume league action at Pasadena on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 3:30 p.m.
