Burbank Drops Season Opener at Flintridge Prep

The Burbank High School varsity girls’ water polo team lost its nonleague season opener at Flintridge Prep in La Cañada Flintridge, 13-8, last Thursday.
Senior Rebecca Zakarian registered three goals, four steals and one assist, senior Valentina Angel finished with two goals and two steals, and sophomore Lizzie Bislamyan produced two goals and one steal.
Senior goalie Elen Amiryan tallied six saves in the cage, sophomore Frida Mejia scored once, and junior Natalie Bislamyan recorded three steals and two assists. Senior Makala Kelley posted two steals, while senior Karina Ghukasyan had one assist.
The Bulldogs (0-1 overall) will visit San Marino for a nonleague game on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 3:30 p.m.

The Bears will open the regular season by competing in the Claremont Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1-2.
