City Honors Scully With Blue Lights

First published in the Aug. 13 print issue of the Burbank Leader.

Burbank City Hall was lit up blue on the evening of Aug. 9 in memory of Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully who passed away on Aug. 2. Scully began calling games for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1950 and retired in 2016. His 67-year tenure with the Dodgers was the longest of any sports commentator with a single team. The Burbank City Council adjourned this Tuesday’s council meeting in his honor.
