The visiting Burbank High School varsity boys’ tennis team tallied its second victory in as many days over intracity rival Burroughs High, 14-4, last Thursday.
Burbank’s doubles teams swept Burroughs, while the singles players added five set victories.
The Bulldogs No. 1 doubles team of Adonis Basco and Yash Desai swept 6-1, 7-5, 6-2. The No. 2 tandem of Christopher Krikorian and Mark Lin tallied three set victories, 6-3, 7-6, 6-2, while the No. 3 duo of Simon Akopyan and Dominic Aleman also notched three wins, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.
In singles action, No. 2 Adam Ridaoui swept his competition 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, while Amrith Kodumuri won two sets 6-1, 6-0.
Each of the Bears’ singles players registered at least one set victory, led by No. 3 Michael Fraser, who took two of three sets 6-0, 6-1. No. 1 singles player Bernard Woods and No. 2 singles player Markos Mkrtchyan each tallied one victory, 6-1 and 6-0, respectively.
Burbank (7-1 league record) is scheduled to host Arcadia in a Pacific League match on Tuesday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, Burroughs (3-5 in league) is scheduled to visit Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta on Tuesday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m.
