Reader Praises Erskine’s Return

First published in the April 2 print issue of the Burbank Leader.

Oh, my goodness, I’ve died and gone to heaven.

“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.”

“Houston, the Eagle has landed.”

All that is good in life has returned with the self-proclaimed Maestro of March.

For almost all of his previous 25 years of glorious award-winning columns, my wife and I were avid readers. His ups, his downs, his wonderfully descriptive word phrases and his detailed, dead-on commentary concerning the human condition and its status. Chris Erskine has returned and I am grateful to him and the Outlook News Group’s publisher, Charlie Plowman.

Every once in a while, things go right with the world and Chris Erskine is one of them, another is that soft thud of decency, democracy and the first draft of history on my doorstep each week.

Thank you, Mr. Plowman.
