First published in the March 26 print issue of the Burbank Leader.

More summer-like heat bathed much of the Southland this week, with the Hollywood Burbank Airport tying a high-temperature record for March 22.

A weather monitor at the airport recorded 86 degrees on Tuesday, tying a record for that date set in 2008.

Record-high temperatures were also reached in Camarillo, Oxnard and Santa Barbara. Additionally, San Diego County’s Ramona tied its daily temperature with its record high of 83 degrees set in 2008.

By late morning Wednesday, the National Weather Service noted that coastal temperatures in Los Angeles County were “trending way up” from Tuesday.
