Burroughs Pick Up League Victory; Burbank Idle

John Burroughs High School’s varsity boys’ soccer team, which owns a 5-2 Pacific League record (6-4-1 overall), ended Pacific League action by narrowly defeating host Arcadia, 2-1, on Tuesday, Jan. 25. No individual statistics were reported to the Leader.

The CIF Southern Section playoff pairings are scheduled to be announced Feb. 8 and postseason play will begin the following day.

The Bulldogs have been idle since falling to intracity rival Burroughs, 2-1, during a Pacific League match on Jan. 7.

Burbank (5-3 overall, 3-3 in league) is scheduled to host undefeated Crescenta Valley in a league rematch on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 3:30 p.m. The Falcons shut out Burbank, 3-0, the last time these two teams squared off.
