Burroughs, Burbank Both Topple Arcadia in League

Burbank High School’s varsity girls’ basketball team defeated visiting Arcadia, 51-40, during a Pacific League game last Friday. Senior Tabitha Cruz posted a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds — her third 20-plus point performance of the season.

Senior Christina Ohanians registered seven points while juniors Rheanna O’Campo and Karen Casillas each added six points. Senior Alle Tarvirdi and junior Shelby Cribbs finished with four and two points, respectively.

The Bulldogs (5-2 league record, 10-7 overall) are scheduled to visit Valencia Trinity Academy for a nonleague matchup on Friday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m.

Junior Izzy Roderick nearly posted a remarkable 20-20 double-double by amassing 18 points and 19 boards as the Bears won a Pacific League game at Arcadia, 44-20, on Tuesday.

Senior Noor Fahs registered nine points and 12 rebounds, junior Rachel Little had five points and four rebounds, and sophomore Ashley Martin added four points, four rebounds and three assists. Senior Haley Dowthwaite and junior Kylie Indefenzo each scored three points while freshman Mariam Fahs finished with two points.

Burroughs (5-1 league record, 18-5 overall) is scheduled to visit Pasadena for a league game on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 6:30 p.m.
