Men Impersonated Officers, Carjacked Two

A pair of men impersonated police officers and carjacked two individuals early last Saturday morning, the Burbank Police Department said.

Burbank police responded to the 3000 block of North Naomi Street for a report of “suspicious circumstances” on Saturday, May 1, at about 1:48 a.m. Officers arrived and found two individuals who were handcuffed. Officers learned the victims, who were unharmed, had been carjacked at gunpoint by two suspects impersonating police officers, according to Sgt. Emil Brimway of the BPD. 

The impersonators were wearing shirts with the word “Police” written on the front, Brimway added.

Police did not provide a specific description of the men.

The investigation into this incident continued this week. No additional details were immediately available.
